Threshold Dental

Under the leadership of Scott Simpson, DMD the Threshold Family Dental Center is unique to the Central Florida practice of dentistry. Working with children and adults who have a difficult time finding a dental home, Dr. Simpson offers hope, health and happiness to thousands of patients who might otherwise not have access to primary dental care because of their intellectual disabilities.

The Threshold-based practice is available to patients with mixed diagnoses that may not be able to gain access to other offices. Our operatories and clinic feature the latest in equipment and services. Many patients and their families often tell us that our equipment is significantly more modern than their previous dentist and our staff welcomes people with an understanding of the impact that intellectual disabilities have on their loved one.

While we do offer services for the developmentally disabled population, we also serve the needs of their family members as well. With almost forty years of working with families with disabilities, our goal is to provide a "single stop shop" so parents do not have to run from one end of town to the other trying to find a dentist.

We are currently accepting new patients and accept most insurance and we are an authorized Medicaid Waiver dental provider. For patients who need more assistance in receiving the care they need, we also offer IV sedation services. IV sedation may require an additional fee and is not covered by third party payers. We are always willing to work with families to make this fee affordable for those who need it. Please keep in mind that the sedation service provider is not a Threshold employee, so you will have to pay for his services if they are needed.
